Special Day Special Baby!

Today was a special day. We were invited to our future daughter-in-laws church for their Christmas Cantata. I had planned to attend this special service for some time. I didn't know until yesterday that our grandbaby Matthew was going to be Baby Jesus. His other grandparents portrayed Joseph & Mary. Having found this out I talked Grandpa Harold in attending, so there we all sat, Lauren, Kyle, Grandpa Harold & Grandma Nettie all sitting in the third row and when I see Matthew I really tried not to cry but I couldn't help it, Lauren asked my why I was crying and I said "because my grandson is being Baby Jesus!! She justs laughs at me knowing how emotional that I am. It was a very touching moment one that I hope never forget. I'm so glad that we were able to be there.

Did you say GRANDMA AGAIN!!!!!!

My My how life can change in no time at all. I stopped by Katressa's on 10/31/08 to see baby Matthew on his first Halloween. While I was there visting,Katressa pointed to a brown paper bag that was sitting on the coffee table. She said Mom I got you a Halloween treat.. I thought well how sweet was that. She then told me that I had to close my eyes and stick my hand into the bag to get my surprise.. I'm thinking to myself. it's halloween, time to play ucky tricks on people, I asked her if I would scream and her reply was "Oh, I'm quite sure you will", so I reluctantly put my hand into the bag and pull out my surprise,I pull out a baggie, turned the wrong way and a clipping from a magazine that says, "having John's baby"! I then turn the baggie over to see two pregnancy tests showing POSTIVE. Oh course being the quite person that I am I starting screaming a little and jumping up and down, then crying a few happy tears. Today was her first Dr. appointment, they are saying around June 30,2009 our new little bundle or bundles of joy will be here. I have put my order in for twin boys!!

BIRTHDAY BOYS !!

I just want to say "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to two fellows that have been a very important part of my life!! Even though my guys have to share the limelight now with a wonderful son-in-law and a beautiful GRANDBABY, I hope that they know how much that I love them. Both of my birthday guys are celebrating milestones this year! No Harold is NOT 60!! Harold was born Nov.16,1954 and will turn 54 this year! (WOW Dorcas he IS older than you)! Kyle Andrew hits the big 21 this year. I can't believe that my beautiful 9lb. 6oz baby boy has finally made it to 21! I didn't think that I would live to see this come to pass!! I trust that you boys will both have great birthdays!!

THE GRANDMA THING !!

Being a Grandma is "GREAT"! I am truly enjoying every minute. Funny thing even the title "Grandma" doen't bother me, prefer to be called Mamaw Nettie, however I do NOT and I reapeat do NOT like being called Grandma Killinger, even to me I don't feel that old! My cousin calls me this (on purpose) but with him I think it's a pay back thing, for me calling him Bobby Jean for years!! In a seriousness, I really don't care what Matthew ends up calling me. It's odd, but when others talked about how they loved being a grandparent, I truly couldn't imagine having that kind of love for any other than your own children but it is TRUE! I thank God for blessing me with the honor of being a grandparent. I know what kind of grandparent that I want to be, and with God's help I intend to be that grandma! I want Matthew to always see Jesus in me!

RECEPTION!!!

Wow! I will have to say that I am glad that everything is finally over! It will be nice to settle back into my own little routine. Katressa & John had a very nice reception even though many of her guests didn't show. The highlight of this reception was that her Aunt and her Uncle and even one cousin from Pennsylvania were able to be here, another Aunt from Ohio, her Aunt & Uncle and two cousins from Wisconsin were here also, This is the ONLY time that they have all been in Indiana together. What a great time we had.. The food was good, and the cake was beautiful. Cammi done a wonderful job sing "What a Wonderful World". I was so glad to have family on Harold's side present. I know that really meant alot to Katressa & Harold. Matthew James Morgan Killinger was able to meet lots of family and they ALL thought that he was adorable (which I totally agree). We finally got a picture of Matthew with his Great Grandparents at the reception! I appreciate all of you who were able to join us on this hapy occassion.

Mr. & Mrs. John Michael Roberts

What a fast pace we have had the last two weekends, with only one more big event left to go and then it's back to our boring life. The wedding was very nice. The lodge were Katressa and John were married had a view that would literally take your breath away. John looked so handsome (did you hear that Amy)! The dove release ceremony was very touching. Ben done a great job as ring bearer and the girls looked like little princesses, and Katressa was simply BEAUTIFUL and YES I did cry. Harold looked rather dashing as he gave our daughter away. Tennessee is a beautiful place. Congratulations to the newlyweds.

BIG CORRECTION!!!

I must make a correction on Matthew James Morgan Killinger's weight. We didn't have a big baby we had a baby giant. Matthew weighed 9lbs. 15 oz.

What a difference a day makes. We can already see changes in our little captain! I was able to stay the night Sat. and I am glad that I did. Lauren was still in quite a bit of pain and not able to get up so I was able to have some special bonding time with Matthew. Grandpa stayed last night to help out and I guess Matthew had a rough night. They found out that he has jaundice. Dr. Matthew's came in today and told Harold & Lauren not only was this the hardest c-section but also the hardest birth that he has had in his career. We are so thankful they both are doing well. Well I will guess I will force myself to post a few pictures for you to all enjoy.

Finally a Name!!!!

Well Baby does now officially have a name.. As some of you know 9/20th is Kyle's grandfather's birthday, also would have been Harold's grandmother's b-day and also our dear nephew Matthew, that in itself is special to our family .
Lauren & Kyle picked Matthew James Morgan Killinger as baby's name so the name is special to us also. James is also Harold's brothers name..

Baby is here!!

Finally at LAST we have a BIG BABY BOY!! Still don't know the name as of yet, but our wonderful bundle of joy weighed in at 9lbs. 7oz. 21 3/4" long lots of dark hair. He has to stay in the NINU unit for a while for observation. Dr. Williams said it was the hardest C-section he had done in 16 years. His head measured 15" and his shoulders were 15 1/2" he has a bruise on his left ear, a cut on his foot but we think he is definitely a keeper. Thank you all for praying for us today.

Update

After all day of waiting they are finally going to do a C-section so keep Lauren in your prayers

Just Waiting

Lauren went to the Dr. yesterday Friday and the plan was to induce her at 9.00 Sat. morning but around 2:30 she decided to go on her own. We arrived here around 3:30 so we just waiting. She is at 5 1/2. I went downstairs for a minute to use the phone and I saw this lady like laid, down in the entrance and then she tried to get up and then down she went again, and laid on her back, they couldn't even find her a wheelchair.I went back upstairs and Harold went out to get the computer and he got there in time to see them clean up the baby. I asked the nurse if she was going to charge them for a room and she just laughed. So anyway we are here waiting, just waiting I can't wait!!!!

Lauren's due date is the 17th and the Dr. told her that if she hasn't gone by then he will help her out.. I can't wait!! I just hope he like me right off.. Kyle said I will be called Grandma I just think Grandma Killinger sounds sooo old don't you ? Grandma Nettie has a better sound to it! We are looking forward to out trip to Tenn. We have some things planned to do while we are there. I promise you I will NOT be playing golf like John. (why would anyone do that anyway talk about OLD)! Bridal Shower

Katressa had a wonderful turnout for her bridal shower last Saturday. There were 23 women present, not counting children, 15 of them were from Katressa's work. Thoses ladies are a blast!! It's a wonder they can even get anything done, as much fun as they have when they are together. We played a few fun games. One which Amy Shearer kissed the groom-to-be on the cheek, we are still trying to figure that one out! Katressa loves Matthew Mcconaughey, so like any good mother, I tried to get him to attend the shower, he must have been booked up, so I did the next best thing. I brought a poster of Matthew home from work, and put John's head on Matthew's body, and then we pinned the boutineer on the groom, we really had fun with that one!! Katressa did receive many nice gifts. It was so nice for her to be able to be with family and friends. Katressa I hope that you had a nice time, just want you to know that I love you very much!!

Killinger Reunion 2008

Harold was very fortunate to be able to attend the Killinger Reunion 2008. It was held this past Saturday in the hills of Gap, Pa most of you people out their will NOT know where that is, but believe me it is a real town. Harold drove to Ohio, then rode out to Pa with two of his sisters. They had a very good time from what I heard. It was nice for them to be able to see their family that they haven't seen for many years. I wasn't able to attend this year with Katressa getting married in a few weeks, but I was glad that Harold was able to go..

Shower for Baby Killinger

What do you get when you have 20 women together, great food, games, laughter? FUN-FUN!
Well we had LOTS of that. Saturday Aug. 9th at the baby shower! Lauren's mother Kim done a great job planning a super fun shower. We played many games with the Olympic theme. I especially like racing with baby strollers around the kitchen, removing babydolls diaper, putting on new diaper, then hula hopping twice.. Believe it or Not, this old (grandma) lady didn't do, too bad (our team won)! Baby Killinger even had Great G-ma Thompson in attendence along with all of his future Aunt's- Katressa, Sara & Becka! We had a very nice time. I can't believe that it is getting close to time for our little bundle of joy. I can't wait to hold and kiss him!!

Prayer Request.

Last week I mentioned an urgent request. I didn't feel up to talk about, we were still getting used to the idea ourselves. A week ago on Thursday Harold was called to a meeting at work and was told that his job was being eliminated, due to company down-sizing. He had no idea and neither did his boss. The company had been bought-out at the end of last year, we were curious what sort of changes would be made, not expecting anything this drastic. Katressa is getting married in a matter of weeks, and our first grandbaby is due soon also. Please pray that God will send something soon. I keep singing that phrase "God is working out his purpose". We would appreciate our friends helping us touch heaven on this matter.

URGENT REQUEST

Life is full of unexpected things! It seems that the last couple of years we have had WAY to many.. I am not able to go into detail at this time, but if you have ANY spare time PLEASE pray for Harold & I. We have had a serious situation come up and if we have ANY friends out there in blog space please, please pray for us.

Time Flies

My goodness where did the weekend go! We really had a great holiday .. It's amazing how fast time goes when your not at work. We did enjoy the fireworks, we had a great view. John & Katressa were busy helping their friends run a food booth, but we did get to be with them some.
Kyle & Lauren came after they got off work and did we ever have fun. Kyle had us rolling in laughter, sometimes I wonder if he is alright!!! I think the best feeling in the world is being with your kids even when they get big.. We were able to see Kenzie, she really liked the fireworks.
Friday we spent the day with Kyle & Lauren.. I think they are getting anxious for this baby to make his entrance..We ate together and had fun. Sat. Harold & I spent the day together which is rare. Sunday night we went to hear The Collingsworth in Bedford. They were great.. Amazingly enough the pastor at that church & I went to school together at Washington, Indiana
when I was in the 7th grade. We had LOTS of catching up to do.. It was nice to get reaquainted and intresting how things could work out! All in all we had a great weekend. It is nice to have a long weekend off from work occassionally!

Nature's Beauty

I was asked to post my little pond area, or as I call it "The Haven". Harold & Kyle dug the hole for this a few summers ago. We try and add a little bit each year because we are poor and can't do it all at once! My swing sits not too far away, so I am able to swing and listen to the water and look at the pretty flowers. I try and plant red flowers in memory of dear Mom Mom, purple for Thelma, and the angels for Pop Pop, Matthew and Jeff. I guess you could also say memory garden. The green wagon was my Mother's Day gift two years ago. We have koi, goldfish and a frog. This year we added a water iris, when it bloomed was beautiful purple! I want Harold, Kyle and Katressa to know that I really appreciate how you have helped do this for me. It is a perfect place for me to collect my thoughts (you all know how trying that can be for ALL)! I love you all very very much, I know that I should tell you all that more often!!!
